We run our own Neighbourhood Watch, working with the Metropolitan Police Waterloo and South Bank Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
Join here for regular crime prevention emails (not to be confused with LERA emails; please note you are signing up to a separate mailing list run by our Neighbourhood Watch partners).
Need help?
Emergencies
Dial 999
including when there is threat to life or property, a crime is being committed and the suspects are still there (eg burglary, drug dealing or taking), and where anti-social behaviour is aggressive and likely to result in violence. Provide as much information as possible. The call will be graded:
I – response within 12 minutes S – response within 1 hour E/R – response over 1 hour
Non-emergencies
Dial 101
including anti-social behaviour, when you suspect a crime may have taken place and the suspect has gone, and people making excessive noise during the night. If you have to wait more than 15 minutes, hang up and dial 999; tell the operator you had to give up waiting for an answer on 101.
If you’re worried about someone over 18 years old who may be homeless, StreetLink can connect them with Lambeth Council’s Outreach rough sleeping team, who will find and support the person. For anyone homeless under 18, dial 999.
Report areas where you don’t feel safe – maybe a lack of street lighting, abandoned buildings, vandalism, or where you may have been followed or verbally abused. This highlights problem areas so police and other agencies can work to improve them.
